As our Earth rotates, celestial objects move away from the field of view. A clock drive is needed to avoid this, which means that the fine details can be observed.
When showing the celestial wonders to friends it is essential.
To image Moon or planets a clock drive is a must.
Stepper motor version
- always tracks at the correct speed, as the motor speed does not depend on the voltage
- the hand controller provides 2x or 8x motion on right ascension axis
Requires 6V DC (battery holder included).
Note that to ensure accurate tracking the mount needs to be polar aligned.
